This course is an introduction to the principles and techniques of media production. Students will study the historical development of film and television as well as the sociological, economic and aesthetic effects of the medium. Students will explore the various genres and styles of programming as well as deconstruct commercials and modes of advertising to become more responsible viewers. Students will apply what they have learned in projects created on video, digital and computer equipment.
